Marital & Couples Therapy:

Couples therapy based on many of the significant marital therapy inventions influenced by relationship experts, including Dr. John Gottman, and John Gray, author of Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. Initial therapy sessions are broken down by four critical intake assessments:
Initial session meeting with both parties in the couple partnership, each has own one-time individual session  (to determine if any specific personal issues may impede couples therapy's progress), and lastly, the couple attends the fourth meeting together for the final assessment of the partnership.  During the fourth session, treatment planning and intensive interventions are implemented to assist the couple in better communication, fighting fair, and expression of feelings appropriately.

Child, Adolescent, & Family Therapy:

It is our policy for the parent or parents to attend the initial session without child/teen present to assist the therapist in proper history and goals for the child/teen. The second session, therapist meets with child/teen and parent(s), and following sessions will be individual with family involvement if found necessary. Meeting with you and your child/teen one-on-one, using talk, play therapy, and cognitive behavioral techniques to focus on areas of social difficulties, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and attention difficulties.

Family Therapy is perfect for families experiencing ongoing conflicts, arguments, or difficulty getting along, children exhibiting behavioral and emotional problems at either home or school. This approach provides positive family interventions and interactions to improve communication skills among family members.

Individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy & Stress Management:

Most helpful with adults, adolescents, and older children who have difficulty coping with stress, and have feelings of anxiety or depression. The client will learn ways to restructure negative thoughts into more positive and successful ways of thinking.

Techniques will be taught to identify stressful situations which enable the client to learn to recognize stress and how to cope with it effectively. Pressure may increase anxiety or depression, leading to undesirable behaviors and emotions.

Divorce and Post-Divorce Expertise:

Providing support, information, and coaching throughout the initial stages of divorce/separation and post-divorce with individuals, co-parents, children, adolescents, and families. Assists in understanding the legal process in Georgia (not able to provide legal advice). Creating and developing specialized Parenting Plans that cater to the specific needs of the children and their development. Includes Parent Coordination to divorced parents who have high conflict post-divorce. Clients will learn effective communication and conflict resolution skills. Divorce Mediation is also provided as a cost-effective and alternative dispute resolution to help keep families from having to pursue the stress of litigation.
